Vermont’s Skodova Blanks Groton

USHR traveled out to the Groton School on Saturday to watch Vermont Academy, undefeated and ranked #1 in Div. II, take on the Groton Zebras. While Vermont Academy came away with a 3-0 win, we were surprised with the overall performance from the Wildcats. Whether it was playing a game on Friday night and/or the long bus ride down, Vermont Academy was not the same team we saw when they bested New Hampton in mid-December at the finals of the Cushing tournament. ... read more

Vermont Academy Tops USHR D-II Poll

Vermont Academy started off the New Year the same way it ended 2017: with two solid wins, particularly impressive given the absence of top scorer Krystyna Kaltounkova and top defender Klara Janusikvoa to the Czech U-18 team in Russia. Most of the top teams held check, with the lone poll movement being Rivers and Brooks swapping spots due to Brooks's 3-2 win over the Red Wings on Saturday. ... read more

Undefeated Kent Remains #1 in USHR D-I Prep Poll

USHR D-I Poll, Week of January 8, 2018

1. Kent (10-0) -- The more we watch them play, the more we start thinking they might not lose a game all year. Although the Nobles score was close on Saturday (Kent, 1-0), it was all Kent. The Lions are loaded with D-I talent and may have the top goalie in prep school hockey in senior Nina Prunster. Big matchup on Wednesday @ Loomis. After Loomis, Kent has a very favorable schedule. ... read more
