Loomis Chaffee defeated Choate 4-2 in the Elite 8 Championship Game Sunday March 8th, finishing the season 24-4-0 under head coach Liz Leyden.
Loomis senior forward—and tournament MVP—Lindsay Stepnowski notched two goals in Sunday's 4-2 win, an unassisted tally to put her team up, 1-0, in the first period and another in the second to give the Pelicans a 3-1 lead. Stepnowski will be taking her talents to Harvard in the fall.
Exeter senior forward Maria Grey was named MVP of the Large School Tournament. Grey, a Wisconsin native who'll continue her playing career at Vermont, notched a goal and an assist in Exeter's 4-2 win over Choate.
Groton junior goaltender Nora Wilson, of Weybridge, VT, shut out New Hampton, 1-0, on Sunday in the Small School Championship game, and was named MVP.
