Sat. Feb. 16 Highlights
Westminster 3 @ Berkshire 2 – Berkshire, on goals by juniors Adam Tracey (ppg) and Tipper Higgins, took at 2-0 lead into the first intermission. Midway through the second, Westy scored a pair of goals 20 seconds apart – juniors Mario Benicky and John Pappas converting – to knot it up at 2-2. And then, at 5:15 of the third, PG Ethan Holdaway scored the game winner, with assists going to seniors Ryan Mowery and Vincent Gisonti. For the game, Berkshire outshot Westminster, 30-29. Westy junior goaltender Zac Hamilton (28/30) picked up the win, and Berkshire senior Tim Ernst (26/29) was on the wrong side of the ledger for the first time since a 4-1 road loss to Gunnery back on Dec. 5th. Berkshire, ranked #1, falls to 19-3-3. Westminster improves to 14-6-2.

@ Canterbury 3, Kent 2 – Kent, after a goal by junior Lewis Zerter-Gossage with 1:57 left in the second period, took a 2-1 lead into the third but couldn’t hold it. Host Canterbury tied it up at 3:54 of the third on a Jordan Klotz goal and, with 2:45 left in regulation, junior Lucas Habich notched the game winner. Kent outshot Canterbury, 41-27, but senior goaltender Austin Essery (39/41) came up big for the Saints. Senior Charlie Fennell (24/27) took the loss. This is a tough loss for Kent, fighting for a spot in the Elite 8. They are now 13-6-3 in NEPSIHA play.

@ KUA 8, Cushing 3 – Seniors Nick Roberto (2g,2a), Niko Rufo (2g,2a), Casey Miller (1g,3a) and junior JD Dudek (1g,3a) each had four-point days. KUA led by 6-1 after one period, and 8-1 after two en route to the 8-3 win. The Wildcats are now 21-2-0 in NEPSIHA play, and Cushing is 14-7-4.

Salisbury 2 @ Avon 2 (OT) – Junior Nick Hutchison scored two goals late in the second period to pull the Winged Beavers into a 2-2 tie with #6-ranked Salisbury. Avon junior goaltender Cody Doyle kicked out 31 of 33; Salisbury soph Callum Booth stopped 30 of 32.

@ Deerfield 5, Exeter 0 – Junior Trevor Yates notched a hat trick and senior goaltender Jake Thoubboron earned the big shutout. This was a tough loss for Exeter, which is battling for a spot in the Elite 8. They fall to 12-7-5 in NEPSIHA play.

@ Bel Hill 3, Nobles 2 – A natural hat trick in the first period from junior Will Golonka helped the Hillies improve to 21-3-1 in NEPSIHA play. Golonka has 21 goals so far this season.

Choate 2 @ Taft 0 – Sophomore Charley Borek and senior Mickey Foley scored the goals and sophomore goaltender Sam Tucker kicked out 45 shots to lead #8 Choate to the shutout win.

Gunnery 9 @ Albany Academy 2 -- #4 Gunnery got big nights from junior Joey Fallon (2g,2a), senior Anthony Bird (1g,3a), senior Robert Darrar (2g,1a), and soph Ryan Dmowski (3a). Senior Dawson Sprigings (26/28) got the win as Gunnery improves to 19-2-4 in NEPSIHA play.

@ Milton 2, BB&N 2 (OT) – A goal by junior D Brien Diffley midway through the third lifted the visitors to the tie. Milton outshot BB&N 44-22, but BB&N senior Matt DeLuccia came up big with 42 saves. Senior Anthony Sabitsky scored both of Milton’s goals, giving him 15 on the season.

@ St. Sebastian’s 2, Governor’s 2 (OT) – Trailing 2-0 on the road, Gov’s got a pair of third-period goals from senior F Lucas Bombardier (his 18th) and senior D Geoff Sullivan to eke out a 2-2 tie. In net, senior Brendan McMenimen stopped 36 for Gov’s; junior Tedy Loughborough kicked out 25 for St. Seb’s. Gov’s (9-8-5) remains a game over .500 in NEPSIHA play.

@ Middlesex 2, Rivers 1 -- A goal by senior AJ Lucchese, his 18th of the season, late in the second period broke up a 1-1 tie and held up as the game-winner. In net, Middlesex freshman Derek Goguen (31/32) and Rivers soph Ryan Colena (37/39) were both strong. Middlesex improves to 13-5-4 in NEPSIHA play.

@ NMH 3, Loomis 2 --- Junior D Corey Moriarty scored early in the third to break up a 2-2 tie and the Hoggers held on for the win. In net, senior Ben Csiernik (31/33) earned the win.

Lawrence 4 @ St. Mark’s 2 – Senior George Hunkele (2g,1a) figured in three of LA’s goals today. The Williams College recruit leads the Keller scoring race with 49 points, seven points ahead of Belmont Hill’s Mike Najjar.

@ Millbrook 10, Hoosac 1 – Junior Brett Supinski (3g,3a) had a six-point day.   
@ Trinity-Pawling 3, Hotchkiss 2 – Junior forward Charlie Zuccarini (2g) led the charge for T-P. In net, junior Greg Harney kicked out 27 of 29 for the win.

Thayer 5 @ St. Paul’s 2 – Thayer got goals from five different scorers and junior goaltender Rob McGovern (23/25) picked up the win.

St. George’s 3 @ Groton 3 (OT) – Senior Kristofer Shelton scored with 1:29 left in regulation to lift the visiting Dragons to the tie. Junior F Tim Doherty (1g,2a) figured in all three St. George’s goals. St. George’s (8-9-3) remains a game under .500 in NEPSIHA play.

@ Andover 4, Brooks 0 – Andover got goals from four different scorers and senior Ross Bendetson stopped all 18 shots he faced.

Holderness 5 @ Tabor 4 – Senior Tyler Mathieu (1g,2a) scored the game winner with 19 seconds left. For Tabor, freshman Erick Foley (2g,1a) figured in three of the four Seawolves’ goals.

Tilton 4 @ Hebron 2 – Tilton got goals from four different scorers and PG goaltender Brenden Cain stopped 30 of 32 for the win. PG Ethan Studley scored both of Hebron’s goals. With the loss, Hebron drops a game under .500 in NEPSIA play at 8-9-1.

Portsmouth Abbey 8 @ Harvey 3 – Freshman Josh Vertentes scored three goals – he has 22 on the season – to help lead PA to the road win. Junior Robert Van Raamsdonk figured in all three of Harvey’s goals (2g,1a). He has 37 goals on the season.

@ Hill 3, Moses Brown 2 – Freshman Michael Novello scored a pair of goals for the Hill.
