Exeter Off to a Quick Start
Exeter, NH -- Phillips Exeter picked up three goals in the first seven minutes of play en route to a 5-1 win over a game Hebron squad, which has a new coach in former UNH forward Rob Gagnon.
Five different scorers lit the lamp for Exeter. Tommy Clayton scored Exeter’s first goal of the season just 1:14 into the period. Several minutes later, D.J. Fimiani scored, and then a couple of minutes after that Phil Negus made it 3-0.
In the second period, Kevin McCarthy, on the power play, wristed a top-shelf bullet to make it 4-0. Colin Murphy added a third period goal.
For Exeter, Mike Doherty and Kevin Crane each had a pair of assists. Fimiani, ex of BC High, had an assist to go along with his goal.
Exeter outshot Hebron, 45-27. Exeter played three different goaltenders – Brad Powell, Jonathan Lee, and Teddy Hume – for a period apiece.
