Avon Old Farms 4 @ Kent 1 -- The Winged Beavers rebounded from back-to-back losses with a dominant road win. Senior linemates Joe Connor (2g) and Charlie Gollob (1g) combined for three goals in the second period to propel the visitors to victory. (Gollob, by the way, committed to Brown on Thursday.) Junior Sam Pfefferle scored Kent's only goal. AOF senior Stephen Peck stopped 21 of 22 shots for the win.
@ Taft 9, Choate 3 -- Led by senior center J.J. Lemieux's five-point day -- a hat trick and two helpers -- the Rhinos exploded for a season-high nine goals. In addition to Lemieux, big contributors included senior Jackson Holl (1g,3a), junior D Alexander Kenerson (4a), and junior forwards Archer Brown (3a), and Derek Tremblay (2g). Taft has won six of seven and improves to 8-3-0. The Wild Boars (0-8-3) are still looking for win #1.
@ NMH 3, Lawrenceville 0 -- NMH junior goalie Tommy Adams blanked Lawrenceville with a 21-save shutout. Sophomore Oliver Morris and senior Alex Ondos scored in the first; senior Joseph Dable scored in the third. Lawrenceville has dropped four of five since returning to play from winter break.
Exeter 6 @ Andover 3 -- Exeter tied things up at 2-2 early in the second, and rolled from there. Junior forwards Christian Maro (1g,3a) and Beau Elson (2g) led the way. Ethan Skowronek (1g,2a) figured in all three Andover goals. Exeter senior Michael Salvatore (30/33) earned the win in net. The two ancient rivals will meet again on Sat. Feb. 25, at Exeter.
Tilton 6 @ Vermont Academy 3 -- Tilton carried a 4-0 lead into the third period, but VA made it interesting with three third-period goals to cut the Rams' lead to 4-3. Tilton, however, scored a late PPG and ENG to salt away the win. Rams' senior captain Nicholas Fontaine had a pair of goals. Senior G Conor Waldron kicked out 23 of 26 for the win. VA junior G James Mikos (51/56) kept his team in the game.
@ Kents Hill 4, Worcester Academy 2 -- Kents Hill spotted their visitors a 2-0 first-period lead, but fought back with a pair of goals in the second, and two more in the third.
@ Brunswick 4, Hill 2 -- Brunswick, 5-3 losers at Hill Friday night, bounced back to take the second game in the home-and-home series, 4-2, behind a pair of goals from junior Sean Gibbons. 'Wick senior G Brendan Holahan (19/21) earned the win; Hill senior Ryan Sanborn (35/39) took the loss. Brunswick (9-6-0) has won 4 of its last 5. Hill has won 5 of its last 7.
@ North Yarmouth Academy 5, Académie Saint-Louis 2 -- Senior F Zach Stabb (2g) and senior G Euan Martin (28 saves) led NYA, which is undefeated in its last seven (6-0-1).
Portsmouth Abbey 5 @ Hebron 2 -- Sophomore F Hunter McCarthy broke a 2-2 third-period tie with a pair of goals two minutes apart to lead the Raven past Hebron. Junior G Patrick McDevitt (29/31) earned the win; Lumberjacks' junior G Julian Karagiannis (39/43) took the hard-luck loss. The Abbey has won three straight and are 6-6-1 on the season.
Dexter 1 @ New Hampton 1 (OT) -- Freshman Cam Caron scored a second-period goal for New Hampton, and sophomore Nate Porter put Dexter on the board in the third. The last three games for Dexter (6-5-5) have all ended in a tie.
@ Brewster Academy 4, Berwick 2 -- A hat trick from junior F Mason Meltzer and a 35-save effort from senior G Patrick Green led host Brewster past Berwick.
@ Westminster 5, Salisbury 1 -- Junior G Matteo De Luca kicked out 41 shots, and senior F Rowan Masse (2g,1a), junior D Patrick Dotson (1g,2a), and sophomore F Blake Burke (2g) paced the offense. The Martlets have won three straight, and improve to 6-4-0. Salisbury (7-5-2) is 0-3-1 in its four games since the break.
St. Mark's 5 @ Rivers 1 -- St. Mark's scored four first-period goals and rolled to the 5-1 road win. Five different Lions found the back of the net. St. Mark's has won four straight to improve to 10-2-0.
@ Berkshire 3, Williston 2 -- Berkshire junior Camden Raifstanger's second-period goal held up as the game-winner. Senior forwards Tanner Marsh and Jaden Davis scored the Bears other goals. Williston got its scoring from junior Riley Van Son and senior Felix-Antoine Bouchard. Berkshire's senior goaltenders, Cole O'Donnell and Danick Leroux, shared the win, combining to stop 40 of 42 shots.
@ Loomis Chaffee 3, Hotchkiss 1 -- Loomis scored a goal in each period -- senior Makai Tarjamo in the first, freshman Indiana Grossbard in the second, and junior Ben Carfora in the third -- en route to its first win of the new year. Hotchkiss, fresh off its upset win over Avon on Wednesday, got its only score when senior Brendan Bullock's wrist shot tipped off Andrew Heinze's glove. Heinze (36/37) stuffed a shorthanded 1-on-0 breakaway attempt with two minutes left to preserve what was, at the time, a one-goal lead.
@ Frederick Gunn 4, Stanstead College 4 (OT) -- Trailing 4-1 with 14 minutes remaining in the game, Gunn stormed back to tie the game on goals by senior Dylan Thorn, junior Connor Ferguson, and sophomore D Luke Calabria, whose power play strike evened the tally with 1:14 left. Gunn junior goalie Mitchell McCusker kicked out 27 of 31 shots for the Highlanders, who are undefeated (2-0-2) over their last four and improve to 10-3-2.
@ Pomfret 5, Millbrook 2 -- Senior F Aidan Durso scored two goals for Pomfret and junior G Zach Bloxam (28/30) picked up the win. Pomfret has won four straight and improves to 5-8-1. Millbrook has lost five straight and falls to 6-8-0.
@ Belmont Hill 5, Governor's 2 -- Senior F Ronan O'Donnell (2g,1a) led the attack as Belmont Hill scored three in the second and added a pair in the third to win back-to-back games for the first time since the L'ville Tournament.
@ Kimball Union 6, St. Paul's 1 -- The Wildcats scored five goals in the first and rolled to the win. Sophomore Andrew Sullivan (1g,3a), senior Jackson Kyrkostas (1g,3a), and junior Sam LeDrew (2g,1a) paved the way offensively. KUA (11-4-0) is unbeaten in its last five games (4-0-1) and improves to 11-4-0 on the season.
Tabor 3, St. Sebastian's 3 -- At the Travis Roy Cup at BU's Walter Brown Arena, Tabor scored twice in the final seven minutes of regulation to earn the draw. Down 3-1 in the third, senior Jack DesRuisseaux and junior Brad Guden scored four-and-a-half minutes apart. The Arrows goals came from junior Colin Gorman, sophomore Ben Merrill, and junior D Jack Connors. Tabor's Gus Ackerman saved 34 of 37.
@ Canterbury 6, Austin Prep 3 -- Senior Jed Brazo (2g,1a) and sophomore Ryan Lucarelli (1g,1a) paced Canterbury to its sixth win in 15 games. In the third, the Saints scored three times in 49 seconds to turn a 3-2 game into a blowout. AP's goals came from junior Derek Daley, sophomore Riley Fone, and junior Fisher Niehaus. Mitch Stenger, Canterbury's junior netminder, turned away 23 of 26 shots to pick up the win.
@ Holderness 4, Proctor 2 -- Senior Maxime Charbonneau scored twice and classmate Aidan O'Connell added a goal and an assist as the host Bulls won for the fourth time in their last five games to climb to 9-3-0. Both Proctor goals came from juniors on the powerplay -- Tyler Gwatkin in the first and Finn Connor in the second. Senior goalie Evan Plunkett (25/27) got the win for the Bulls, while Proctor junior Caden Pasqualone (34/38) took the loss.
