Some thoughts on the numbers:

-- By beating Kent, Canterbury jumped into the RPI top 16. This impacted other teams (Kent, Gunnery, Berkshire, Belmont Hill, Westminster, Choate), all of whom have played Canterbury this season. The Saints have a tough schedule remaining (@ Gunnery, home vs. Avon, @ Salisbury) which will affect a lot of teams -- themselves included, of course.

-- Dexter is helped out by having Kents Hill in the top 16, which moves them to .500 vs. TUC. As a result, Dexter wins a couple more JSPR comparisons.

-- Berkshire, though dropping three slots, is still solidly in fourth. At this point, it would take a huge losing streak to drop any of the top four teams – KUA, Belmont Hill, Gunnery, and Berkshire -- out of the Elite 8 tournament. In addition, it’s likely they will all hold onto the top seeds. The bottom four seeds are very much up for grabs, however.

-- Westminster, which defeated Berkshire on Saturday, made a huge jump in both RPI and JSPR. 

-- Loomis dropped out of the top 16. This has had an impact on a number of teams, particularly Founders’ League teams, as Loomis had a lot of games against the top 16. 

-- On the small school front, Millbrook – at 9-8-4 -- is one small school that is close to .500. If they dip below, as they did last year, they will not be allowed to play in the post season (per NEPSAC tournament rules).

 --- Look for standings to change a lot though this week. There’s no shortage of parity this season.
