Schedules, Rosters -- and More

Coaches from 60 of the 61 New England Prep School Ice Hockey Association schools – that includes both Div. I and Div. II -- have uploaded their schedules. We know it’s a busy time of year, and we thank them. We’re waiting on only one school and that is -- nudge, nudge -- Rye Country Day.
Rosters:
Out of the 61 NEPSIHA schools, we have rosters from 57. Rather than list all the schools we do have, we will list the four schools we don’t have. Keep an eye for them. They should appear in the upcoming days. Our goal, of course, is to have them all -- a complete record.
We are still missing:
Div. I: Hotchkiss.
Div. II: Pingree, Portsmouth Abbey, and Rye Country Day.
All the rest we have.
As we are able to instantly see when there are new additions, we will be updating the list over the upcoming days.

We don’t have as many rosters/schedules from schools outside New England as in recent years. We have the key schools that will be frequently traveling into New England, but we’re not doing as well on the Midwestern and Canadian preps. That’s probably a referendum on the east coast slant to our prep coverage, a situation that exists primarily for two reasons – the massive concentration of hockey-playing prep schools in New England, plus the fact that USHR is based in Boston, right in the middle of it all. Still, we have to figure out a way to branch out, and any ideas are appreciated.
We also want to improve the girls’ section of the U.S. Hockey Report, and are looking for a few ideas there – as well as some qualified people who would be willing to help out.

12/19/08 Updated Friday Dec. 19 Update
Because of the snowstorm coming tomorrow afternoon, two schools, St. Mark's and Middlesex will be sending students home early, and thus their teams cannot play in the Harrington Tournament. With six teams remaining
and with the potential weather problems, there are schedule changes to report.
The tournament now consist of a six team round robin in which each team still plays three games, each against different opponents. Here is the revised schedule - please note that the Pomfret-Nobles game will be played at St. Sebastian's in order that all of tomorrow's games can be squeezed in before the storm hits.

-- Friday a.m. update: Thayer will not be traveling to the Howard Tournament at St. George's, so the two games involving them have been canceled. As of 9:30 am, all other games at George's are on schedule.

Welcome to the New Season
First off, let us say that we hope to see many more coaches taking advantage of this site this season than in years past! We'd love to have you on board, and to that end we’ve done everything possible to make it as user-friendly as possible. So, if you are a coach and would like to get your school’s information on the site, but don't know how to go about it, please email us at information (at) ushr.com and we’ll get you set up.We have a large number of readers on the boy’s side. Among our subscribers are parents, players, fans, pro scouts, junior franchises, and just about every college that has an NCAA hockey program. A portion of the proceeds from the boys' side is used to keep the girls side going. It’s a little discouraging, though, to see one side going really well, and the other less so.
So let’s turn it around. Through USHR we can get the word out on the girls playing in New England prep schools, and also create a permanent record of the 2008-09 girls prep season, a digital keepsake players and their families can look back on in the years to come.
We really, really need coaches to upload their rosters/schedules/game results. We also need some volunteers who are not coaches. They can come from anywhere. Their primary assignment will be helping us keep the information up to date by making sure there are no missing results, and ensuring that the gaps in coverage are getting filled in. Anything beyond that is gravy.
