#1 This Week? We Think You Know

Due to the Super Bowl, which has a 6:00 pm start, we’re posting the poll a little earlier today.

Not surprisingly, the Winged Beavers of Avon Old Farms (18-1-0) sit atop this week’s USHR Div. I prep school poll.

Also, we’re limiting our comments for each team to a list of their opponents for next week.

Note:

After last week’s poll was posted, some Exeter supporters were miffed about our comment, which read “Endowment has hit the $1 billion mark, tops in NEPSIHA. Cigars all around!”

People who spoke to us felt that we were attributing the school’s ranking/good record to the school’s deep pockets.

It was actually a tongue-in-cheek reference to a front page article that had appeared in the New York Times the day before. The article had trumpeted the fact that Exeter endowment over the fall had reached the $1 billion mark.

Apparently, a lot of people had missed the article and had no idea what we were talking about – and took it the wrong way.

Anyway, no big deal. Just thought it might be a good idea to clear that up.
